Local knowledge

Practice these Lubbock roads before test day

Loop 289

Lubbock’s loop moves fast and its exits come quickly. Practice merging, lane changes and signaling early.

Marsha Sharp Freeway and I-27

Higher speeds and on-ramps into traffic. Get comfortable matching speed before test day.

Wind and dust storms

West Texas dust can drop visibility in seconds. Slow down, turn on your headlights, and pull completely off the road if you can’t see.

Farm roads and winter ice

County roads mean slow farm equipment and few shoulders, and winter cold snaps can ice bridges and overpasses first.
